OTTAWA – Toxic emotions can destroy a parish and destroy a family, says Henri Lemay, a veteran of the Catholic charismatic renewal in French-speaking Canada.

One of the dangers inherent in trying to live out a life of Christian fidelity is that we are prone to become embittered moralizers, older brothers of the prodigal son, angry and jealous at God������Ƶapp over-generous mercy, bitter because persons who wander and stray can so easily access the heavenly banquet table.

I saw that the bride within the bridal dress had withered like the dress, and like the flowers, and had no brightness left but the brightness of her sunken eyes.”
