St. Mike's to host Humanae Vitae forum

{mosimage}TORONTO - Pope Paul VI鱿鱼视频app controversial encyclical Humanae Vitae will be under the microscope at a Toronto conference later this month.

鈥淐elebrating the Richness of Humanae Vitae: a buried treasure鈥� is the theme of the Nov. 15 conference. It will examine Pope Paul VI鱿鱼视频app 1968 encyclical in light of church teaching on sexuality and marriage, marking the document鱿鱼视频app 40th anniversary.
Humanae Vitae stresses the importance of never separating procreation and the couple鱿鱼视频app communion in the marriage act.

Speakers include Ottawa Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, S.J., speaking on the encyclical, Cale Clarke on Theology of the Body, musician Mark Mallett, Dr. Maria Kraw on a medical perspective and Priests for Life Canada national director Fr. Tom Lynch on the teaching鱿鱼视频app relevance today. 

The conference will be held at the University of St. Michael鱿鱼视频app College鱿鱼视频app Sam Sorbara Auditorium in Brennan Hall. It begins at 8 a.m. and runs all day, with Toronto Archbishop Thomas Collins saying the closing Mass at 5:15 p.m.
