It is a stereotype that Filipinos love to sing, but it is a stereotype the parishioners of the Filipino Catholic Mission of Montreal (FCMM) willingly embrace and use to spread Christmas joy.

A spirit of altruism is shining brightly in Catholic schools on the Prairies this Christmas.

Back in 1993, the musical conductors for Bishop Carroll, St. Mary������Ƶapp and Our Lady of the Rockies high schools in Calgary came up with what students then, upon looking back, say was "an audacious plan."

During an age when Christmas “has been secularized beyond recognition,” children������Ƶapp author Anthony DeStefano remains committed to pouring his energy and considerable talents into promoting the real reason for the season.

In Ajax, Ont., one Catholic school continues to pull out all the stops to better the Christmas season for those in need in their community.
