The controversial gender debate at the Toronto Catholic District School Board came to end in the early morning hours of Nov. 8 with the board voting to include gender terms in its code of conduct.

WASHINGTON -- Catholic bishops in the U.S., England and Wales welcomed the Vatican's statement that gender ideology is opposed to faith and reason, and that Catholic schools and parents must help teach children that gender is fixed from birth.

VATICAN CITY -- Catholic schools must help parents teach young people that biological sex and gender are naturally fixed at birth and part of God's plan for creation, said the Congregation for Catholic Education.

The scandal that has erupted at Toronto������Ƶapp St. Michael������Ƶapp College School involving bullying and assault allegations has prompted suggestions that a “toxic masculinity” at the all-boys’ school played a role in incidents that have resulted in eight expulsions, six students facing serious charges and one student suspended. It������Ƶapp also led to some calls to abolish single-sex schools.

Here we go again. Development and Peace, an organization created by Canada������Ƶapp bishops, is back on the hot seat over allegations it failed to properly screen some overseas partners. At least 11 dioceses have withheld funds from the organization after suggestions that several of its partner agencies are offside on issues that include abortion, contraception and gender theory. 

OTTAWA – Service Canada������Ƶapp directive to employees to use gender-neutral language met with derision in social media, but some Catholic observers say the move represents a dangerous trend.
