VATICAN – From his advocacy for migrants to opening up the Sistine Chapel to Rome������Ƶapp homeless, Pope Francis has been an outspoken voice for people suffering on the margins.

VATICAN CITY – Acknowledging correspondence and treating victims with respect is the very least church officials can offer, said survivors of clergy sex abuse.

VATICAN CITY – Following the resignation of a prominent member and abuse survivor, a pontifical commission charged with addressing issues related to clergy sex abuse vowed to continue to seek input from victims and survivors.

Pope Francis has been commended frequently as a forceful advocate for reform regarding the Church������Ƶapp response to clerical sex abuse. But the resignation of a female member of the commission he established to steer those reforms has cast a shadow over his good intentions.

VATICAN CITY – The Vatican������Ƶapp top doctrinal official, Cardinal Gerhard Muller, has rejected suggestions from a clergy abuse victim that Pope Francis is facing critical internal resistance from foes of his efforts to overhaul the Church������Ƶapp central administration.

ROME – Irish abuse survivor Marie Collins has accused the Vatican bureaucracy of “shameful” resistance to fighting clerical sex abuse in the Catholic Church as she quit a key panel set up by Pope Francis.

The only abuse survivor currently serving on a panel set up by Pope Francis to fight clerical sexual abuse says the Catholic Church is making good progress and welcomed changes initiated by the Vatican and the pontiff.
